I was so honored late last year to have the opportunity to present a show in New York City at the Nancy Margolis Gallery in Chelsea. The opening was held January 9th, 2014 at the Nancy Margolis Gallery. This work is an extension of the large piece in Nashville, and I’m ecstatic to have the opportunity to share my mother’s story with others across the world.
Pictures from the opening and of the work are in the gallery below.
Once I returned to Tennessee, I was again thrilled to find that Gail at the WorleyGig blog visited the show and did a write-up on the work. Gail said, “Exact cuts and layered stacks of thin paper make up his geometric volumes of variegated textures and sinewy shapes. Forms are reminiscent of microbial colonies, sound waves, fractals and topographical landscapes. The collected sculptures in the photo directly above remind me of chunks of driftwood on the beach.” Thanks, Gail!
The show will be on Exhibit through February 1st, 2014 at Nancy Margolis Gallery, Located at 523 W 25th St. New York NY 10001. Gallery Hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10: 00 AM – 6:00 PM.
